Program Director:

Sensei Wendi Munson

Was born in Friendship, Maine (this is why she doesn’t pronounce her R’s and sounds funny when she talks), on March 11, 1964.  She lived there with her mother, father and one sister until graduating with honors from Medomak Valley High School.  She joined the Navy while in her senior year and left for boot camp in Florida shortly after graduation.  She was stationed in Omaha, NE and San Diego, CA before meeting her husband, Rich.  They were married on June 21, 1986 and have two beautiful daughters, Laura and Susan. They now live in Ashaway, RI with  their two miniature horses (Piper & Pepper) and their dogs Bandit and Moose.

Sensei Wendi began her karate in 1999, after many hours of watching her daughter, Susan, during her class.  She joined the Leadership Team as soon as her rank allowed.  She is always willing to share her karate knowledge and help other students in the dojo.

Even before being offered an instructor position for the new Kick’n Kidz After-School Karate Program Sensei Wendi was a constant at the dojo helping in whatever way she could with classes.  She received the Most Helpful award in 2003 & 2006 as well as Instructor of the year for 2004, 2005 & 2006.
